Suggestion: Using a MySQL database

Suggestion:

Using a MySQL database as an optional alternative to iCal files.

This would make the multiple use of calendars much easier and much more reliable.

Hi Karl, thank you for the suggestion. VueMinder does provide calendar sharing through a database - using Microsoft SQL Server. If you know your way around routers and firewalls, you could enable remote access to the server. The page linked below explains how to install VueMinder Server and enable sharing of calendars:

Hi Dan.

Yes, I know about that MS SQL Server option. But unfortunately a Microsoft SQL Server doesn't run on a Linux webserver, am I right?

All the best,
Karl

Yes, that's correct. Darn that Microsoft!

I'll think about adding support for MySQL Server and will let you know if/when this is available. Please let me know if you have any other questions or suggestions.
