Deleting a repeating even does not adjust number of events

Post by Lorenzo » Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:31 am

I'm using v. 9 beta2 lite.

I have tried to set a repeating event, to run for 10 occurrences.

If I later have to delete one of the events, however, only 9 occurrences will run, instead of 10, as I need.

Is this by design?

IMO, it would be better if a repeating event set to run for 10 occurrences will run for 10 occurrences, adjusting the end one, as required if intervening occurrences are cancelled/deleted.

Is there a workaround? Or would there be merit in changing this behaviour?

Thanks

Lorenz

Hi Lorenz, thank you for the feedback. When an occurrence of a recurring series is deleted, it is actually marked as being "cancelled" and hidden. The software still sees it as an occurrence (but a special case), so that's why a new occurrence doesn't get appended to the end of the series.

It would be fairly easy to change this behavior. However, version 9 is close to release, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to have this fixed in time for the 9.0 release. I've added this to my list for a following release and will let you know when an update is available.

Thanks Dan

I understand now. Look forward to when you'll be able to implement it.

Kind regards

Lorenz
