How do I maximize calendar to secondary monitor?

Post by w5lee » Thu Oct 27, 2011 4:44 pm

Hello, When I maximize the desktop overlay calendar it maximizes on my primary monitor. I can re-size it and move to secondary monitor but not quiet what I want to do.

Hi w5lee, welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, the way the Windows OS works, when a window is maximized it fills the active screen.

To maximize windows across multiple monitors, you'll need a 3rd party monitor management program. I did a quick search and I believe UltraMon provides this feature. However, I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure how well it would work with the desktop calendar. Your other option would be to resize the desktop calendar manually.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Not sure I understand your response. If I have any program window on my secondary monitor and I maximize it it will fill the screen of my secondary monitor. The calendar app jumps over to my primary monitor and fills the screen. Strange no? Even if I view the calendar and move it's window over to the secondary monitor and maximize it it stays over there.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought you were asking if there was a way to maximize the desktop calendar so it would fill both monitors. When it's on the secondary monitor and maximized, it should fill the secondary monitor, not switch to the primary monitor. This appears to be a bug. I apologize for the inconvenience and will work on fixing this for the next version.

Go Cards! ;)

If you go to devices and printers in WIn7, select a Monitor and select screen resoluton. This should allow you to extend your monitor to both screens. When I drag VM onto the secondary monitor, it only fills that screen. No problem on my set-up. Hope this helps.

Hmm doesn't work for me when I drag VM over to secondary monitor then maximize it it pops back over to the primary monitor. When I us the identify button the number 2 monitor is on my left and the number one monitor is on my right. The number 2 monitor is my primary monitor. What I would like is for the VM transparent screen to be able to be maximized on my number 1 (secondary) monitor.

I've corrected this problem for the next version. When the desktop calendar is dragged to a secondary monitor and maximized, it will maximize on the secondary monitor, not the primary one.

I apologize for the inconvenience and will post a reply when the beta is ready, if you'd like an early look.
