Yes, that seems high. Memory use should normally be around 50-90 MB (as reported by Task Manager). Do you have reminders that play videos, events with large pictures, or anything similar that might explain the higher memory use? There was a memory leak in the previous version, but that should be fixed in 8.0.1.

I've seen memory grow to this size, but only after playing a 45 minute hi-def video as part of a reminder. A few minutes after the reminder was dismissed, memory went back down to the normal level.

No reminders that play videos, events with large pictures, or anything.
I have not tryed that (yet)
I restarted it, and it was more normal.

I have 3 calendars syncing to googlecalendar. 2 automatic, 1 in every hour. Seems like the one automatically syncs anyway, even if I put it to every hour.

My compurer had been idle for about 3-4 hours when I discovered this.

Hmm, I'm not sure why you're seeing higher reported memory. How long have you been running VueMinder continuously?

I'll take another look at the memory profile and will check if any leaks were somehow introduced into 8.1. Here's what I'm seeing, but I've only been running for a few hours.

As far as I'm aware, there aren't any leaks and 8.1 should normally be using 180 MB or less (depending on how much data you have defined and which features you're using). I'll run some more tests and will let you know if I find any leaks.

When I start the program, and do nothing with it, it is about 80 000K
After
3 min it is 93 200
4 min 100 050
5 min 103 450
8 min 111 235 and increasing
After one hour or two, I guess it will be 200 000 or more
. I don't like this (but love the program).

Thank you for the information. I'll let it run non-stop for the next few days, and see if I can find any new memory leaks. The last time I tested for leaks (before 8.0.0 was released), I let it run for several days straight, and memory use stayed about the same the whole time, maybe climbing a total of 10 MB the whole time it was running.

I haven't had any other reports of leaks in 8.1.0, but I'll see what I can find. If my tests don't uncover any leaks, could you send a backup copy of your data to support@vueminder.com? It could be something in the data that is triggering the problem, which I might not see using my test data. Your data will be kept strictly condidential and will be scrubbed from my computer as soon as I've finished testing for leaks.

If i go to "File -> Backup data", is it this the file you mean?
The last one, or all? (last 14 days)

If you click the Backup button, you can manually generate a vbackup file containing the current data. Save it to your desktop or somewhere that will be easier for you to attach it to an email.

FYI, the software has been running on a test computer for about 10 hours (so far). When it started, it was using 102 MB. Currently it's at 82 MB. Memory use went down instead of up. So far, I'm not seeing any signs of a leak when using my test data.
