Google Sync does not sync recurring events?!

I had the Lite version and was Subscribing to my Google Calendar just fine. All the events showed up.

Two weeks ago I purchased the Pro version of VueMinder. I could not get the Publish feature to work on those calendars to publish back to Google. So, I deleted them and just Added a Google Calendar to Sync both ways. However it seems that events that are 'Recurring' are not coming over from Google. I only had one come over that is for this Friday. There is another on Oct 26th but it does not come over and none of the many others sync over to VueMinder Pro either.

EDIT:
I just noticed that there is an event for this Saturday (10/9) that is also not coming over and it is 'not a recurring event'. This is strange because I have 3 Google calendars setup to sync, and only one seems to be doing it correctly.

Help?

Hi Snacko, could you try manually syncing the calendar by right-clicking it and selecting "Shared Calendar -> Sync Calendar". That sometimes clears up initial problems syncing. Otherwise, try deleting the calendars, fully exit and restart the program, and then add the calendars via the "Add Google Calendar" command. Please let me know if that doesn't fix it.

Fingers crossed, it seems to be working ok now for the past few minutes.

Since just adding a calendar and then subscribing worked, I had each of my 3 Google calendars setup twice in VueMinder. One with a regular calendar subscribed to my Google Calendar, and One by Adding a Google calendar from the File menu. The subscribed ones worked and 2 of the ones added from the File menu 'Add Google Calendar' didn't. The events actually showed up on the first auto sync, then disappeared a few seconds later.

So, I deleted all of my calendars and just added Google Calendars from the File menu. Then I let them sync automatically by themselves, and they seem to be ok. So, I closed VM and restarted it and they are still working. Thanks for you help...

Another Question:
A new calendar appeared in the Calendar list called 'Recovered Events'. The tooltip says it has 1 Event that is Hidden. How do I see what that event is??

Darn it, it's starting to lose Google Calendar events again. This isn't working...

I am this problem also, I have even tried uninstall the program, remove its entirety from the computer and once it's sync with Google calendars, the first time, the next two days is fine until I sync again, its starts not syncing some recurring events and also puts two of the same event.
So I am looking for answers on this forum.

I think this might be a timing issue related to the automatic sync checking and network latency.

Could you try changing the sync frequency (on the Google Calendar tab of the Calendar Properties window) to "Every 1 minute" instead of "Automatically", and let me know if that fixes it? That will help me determine if I'm on the right track or if this is caused by something completely different.

Okay, I think I've found what is causing this. A correction has been made for 7.4.2, which is now available for download.

I tried just setting my 3 google calendars to sync every 1 minute, but that didn't help. So, I deleted all three calendars and closed VM and restarted it. Then I selected each google calendar and set it to update only every 5 minutes so I could see better the timing. Then I added each calendar. Immediately each one synchronized correctly. But on the last one I received this .NET Framwork Error Message:

The message had 3 options: Continue, Stop, Quit. I chose Quit and VM closed.

So, next I started VM again and still all of my google calendars were correct. They had so far only synced the first time (once). So, I pressed F5 and my subscribed calendars (US Holiday, Christian Holidays, etc...) subscribed and then my 3 calendars (Appointments, Reminders, Bills) each synced. Then Appointments synched immediately again (for some reason??) and right then all but one of my events on my Reminders disappeared.

Since they were set to sync every 5 minutes I don't know why Appointments re-synced at that time since I had just synced them all. Doesn't it wait until 5 minutes after the last sync (whether automatic or manual?). And why did only Appointments sync? And why did that seem to cause my Reminders events to disappear??

I am willing to give you my google account info for you to test this if it will help. Or maybe send you some other data or VM files??

Hi Snacko, I've fixed the error message you reported above. The correction will be in the next version. I think the sync problems that followed may have been a result of telling VueMinder to quit/exit after the error message. It was in the middle of a sync, so when it was exited it was left in a weird state. If you happen to see this error again, click Continue and the program will resume the sync.

Version 7.4.2 fixed the problems I believe you were seeing previously, so you can switch back to the automatic sync, if you'd like. Also, I'd suggest deleting any calendar that is synced with Google, fully exit the program (right-click the task tray icon and select 'Exit'), restart the program, and then add the Google calendars back into VueMinder using the "Add Google Calendar" command. Hopefully you won't see any further problems in 7.4.2.
