Updated event on LAN shared calendar will not sync

My wife and I each share each other's calendar on a LAN, Windows 7 on both, hers 32-bit mine 64-bit.
Except for 1 updated event, all sync properly and promptly.
She has a weekly repeating event on her calendar, which needed to skip the event of Oct 20.
She deleted the wrong week, deleting the occurrence for Fri Oct 13 instead of deleting the occurrence for Fri Oct 20.
That deletion of Oct 13 synced to my calendar.
To fix that error, she updated her Oct 20 event occurrence to Oct 13.
That worked fine on her calendar.
But I still see the event on Oct 20 instead of Oct 13.
I tried Sync All on my calendars; no effect.
She added an independent test event on Oct 13; I see that test event on my calendar.
So it seems that an update to the date of one occurrence of a repeating event is not recognized as a change to sync.
This is not a big deal; we both know the true schedule.
But this probably signals an underlying sync problem.

I am having another problem similar to the sync problem of 2 years ago, so I continued this thread.
Our pc/lan environment has not changed ...

My wife deleted 1 instance of a recurring event in her calendar; it no longer appears on her pc/calendar.
But the event still appears on my calendar.
As I set up our calendars as read-only to each other, I cannot delete the instance from my calendar.

So I guess a bug still exists in lan sync.

I do not know if/how I could change from read-only share to update share, but I fear that update share would have more problems.
Any way to remove this event instance from my calendar without converting to update share ???

If not, I can ignore the instance and wait for a future software update to resolve this type of issue.
I will not lose sleep over it.

Hi chota300, your wife can change the sharing permissions to make you a contributor. This can be done by opening the Calendar Properties of the shared calendar and either entering your account name with "Contributor" permission, or changing the current "(Everyone)" permission to "Contributor".

This would just be a change to the permissions. It should not result in any additional syncing issues. After you have contributor access, you can delete the event.

As for why this happened, I'm not sure. It might have been one of those weird glitches that happen from time to time. I'll need to investigate further.
