Theme adjustment question

Post by larryw » Sat Nov 12, 2016 11:26 pm

I hope this is the correct forum for this question.

I'm customizing a theme and want to change the tab font color and tab background color of the selected tab in Calendar Items. Right now it's a light blue with white text but I want to change it to other colors and I can't seem to find the correct control for that tab.

Can anyone point me to the correct one? I've found the hover/select 1,2,3 etc but none of the background or font colors I've changed actually changed the active tab.

Hi larryw, try these steps:

1. Hover the mouse over the tab and press 1 to select the "TabControlTabItemHorizontalTop" role.

2. If you're editing the default appearance theme, you'll see the TabControlTabItemHorizontalTop doesn't have any specific settings. Instead, it inherits its settings from the TabItemHorizontalTop role, which inherits its settings from TabItemHorizontal. Look at the "Roles" tree to see what I'm referring to.

3. In the Roles tree, scroll up to the TabItemHorizontal role and select it.

4. On the Settings window for TabItemHorizontal, select the "Active" tab. These are the settings for selected (active) tabs.

5. Adjust the background and foreground colors as needed.

6. Repeat for the "HotTracked" and "HotTrackSelected".

Note, these settings are shared for all horizontal tab controls. Any color changes you make for the Calendar Items tabs will also apply to other tabs, such as the tabs in the Event Editor window. Unfortunately, there's no mechanism to change only the colors of one tab control but not others.
