Version 10.1.7 has been released. This version fixes the "Completed" checkbox, making it visible when occurrences are opened. Note, when a series is opened, the Completed checkbox won't be shown, since an entire recurring series can't be marked as completed - only individual occurrences.

To update, click the "Check for Updates" command on the Help menu.
