Dismiss screen freezes everthing
Hi,
Once I've loaded Vueminder a pop-up screen prompts me to dismiss a month old reminder but when I click on dismiss it does nothing and in fact freezes the whole PC screen so I have to invoke Disk Manager (XP Pro) and end the whole program.
This happens ever time I load the program - version 9.1.3
How might I resolve this screen freezing?
Thank you for your help.

Did this problem just recently start happening? Have you tried rebooting?
If rebooting doesn't fix it, maybe something became corrupted with the installation. It's also possible updating to the latest version (10.1.4) will fix the problem.
Please use the link below to download and install the latest version. It will install on top of the current version, preserving all existing data.

Hi Dan,
Yes, this problem just occurred recently.
I downloaded the most recent version and it enabled me to dismiss that old reminder.
I set up a Reminder with Sound but next to that choice is a blank white box. There doesn't seem any way to search my hard drive for the audio of my choice.
Ex. Have a music MP3 play on my HD as a reminder.
How might that be done?
Thank so much for all your help.

I'm glad the update fixed the problem.
To select a media file for playback in the reminder, click the "..." button on the right side of the media box to browse for a media file (wav, mp3, wma, etc).
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Dan,
I had that window opened before but I now realize you must place the cursor on the 4 dots and left click and then Windows Explorer opens and you can access whatever content to serve as your reminder from your hard drive.
One last question, por favor?
Do I have to open Vueminder for the alert to work?
I often get busy as soon as I boot up the PC and might not remember to open Vueminder on the day I need reminding.
Thank you again for all your help and patience.

VueMinder should start when Windows starts. VueMinder will run in the background and can be accessed via the task tray. If any reminders come due, they'll automatically appear. There's no need to remember to start VueMinder first.
To verify that VueMinder is configured to start when Windows starts, open the Program Options (via the Options menu) and make sure the box labeled "Run at Windows startup" has a checkmark.
You can also see if VueMinder is running by looking in the task tray for the VueMinder icon. Note, sometimes the icon will be hidden. The the documentation linked below explains how to make it visible:

Dan,
Thanks so much.
It's really a nifty program.
