[SOLVED] 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
[SOLVED] 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
From version 10.1.2 on I'm getting multiple occurrences (2 times up to 7 times, maybe unlimited) of identical events. Those multiple occurrences are coming step by step after some hours and after some days.
Mostly they are recurring events but sometimes single events too.
Edit: Solved with version 10.1.3

Re: 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
Does this happen in all calendars or one in particular? If it happens in a certain calendar, is there anything different about that calendar? In other words, is it one that is published/subscribed, shared, synced with Google, etc?

It happens in one particular calendar, but this is the only one with some recurring events.
It is a ics file, published/subscribed and shared with a 2nd user.
It happened directly after the update. I already deleted all those "ghost" events, but after some days they are all coming back.

Re: 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
Thank you for the information. I'll run some more tests to see if I can duplicate the problem.
I'm not sure if it's related, but please check the system time on all computers that are sharing the calendar. Make sure the clocks are synced with the same internet time server. You might need to force the clocks to update to the correct time. On Windows 7, there should be an "Internet Time" tab in the Date and Time settings, accessed by clicking the clock in the task tray and selecting "Change date and time settings". If you see any improvement after doing this, please let me know.

This is already the case.VueSoft wrote:Make sure the clocks are synced with the same internet time server...
This morning I deleted all of the "ghost" events on both computers. But hour after hour they are all coming back like ghosts.

Many hours later I closed VueMinder on the 2nd computer. Alle of the ghost events are gone after that like magic.
Hmmm... An hour later all ghosts are back.
And it happens in more than one calendar and not only with recurring events.

Re: 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
Thank you for the information. I've made some changes for the next version which might (I hope) fix it. A new release should be available within the next couple days.

Re: 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical events
Did you fix anything related to this bug in the new version?
The "ghost events" have increased meanwhile to about 300 events. How can I get rid of these? Restoring of old backups doesn't work, the ghost events are always coming back.
It's really frustrating now.

Hi VMUser, I'm not sure if the new version will fix the problem. I made some changes that might be related. Could you send me the ICS file that has the problem, so I can check if there's anything about the file that might be triggering this problem?

Re: [SOLVED] 10.1.2: Multiple occurrences of identical event
It seems to be solved with version 10.1.3.
Once again I deleted all "ghost events" on both computers and now they are not coming back any more.
